SNAPSHOTS OF BANGKOK This is the famous Golden Buddha and temple. In Thai it's called Wat Traimit. The Golden Buddha is nearly 10 feet high, weighs over 5 tons and is thought to be constructed of pure gold. It was discovered by accident in 1957. A crane was used to move a heavy object covered in plaster and the crane slipped and the object fell causing the plaster to break revealing the Golden Buddha. The Buddha was apparently covered by plaster hundreds of years ago to hide it from Burmese and other raiders.
	I'm not exactly sure what these are. But they were just outside the Golden Buddha Temple and appeared to be some sort of fortune telling machines. People would place a coin in them. They'd flash and cavort and then stop. The "player" would then grab a piece of paper from numbered bins below. And I guess that was his/her fortune.
