Grab an electric train out of Lisbon for an interesting journey to Cascais along the Portugese Costa do Sol.  The trip alone is worth it passing mainly along the Atlantic shoreline with the ocean in clear view.  You'll notice that as you get away from Lisbon the housing begins to transform from drab to innovative and colorful.  Have lunch at a little bistro in Cascais and just wander around town.
