RESTAURANT OF THE WEEK
A PERSONAL REVIEW OF RESTAURANTS AROUND THE WORLD

RODIZIO RESTAURANTE
BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA

This is one of those "all you can eat" Brazilian places where waiters constantly attack your table with sabers loaded with all kinds of meats.  We have tried these in the U.S. and Caribbean and wanted to see how this one compared.  After all, we weren't that far away from Brazil!  The restaurant is located quite near the Hilton Hotel in the Puerto Madero section of Buenos Aires.

We arrived at about 7:50pm and the doors were open.  Remember, people in Buenos Aries eat late compared to U.S. standards.  Most wouldn't even consider going to dinner before 10pm or 11pm.  We were quickly seated in this very nicely appointed restaurant and there were probably only two other tables occupied at this early hour!

Very Rich, Classy Interior and Spotless, too!

This experience was a very good one.  Like other Brazilian meat shrines, this place had a good salad bar.  Actually it was an outstanding salad bar with all kinds of pasta salads, lettuce salads, smoked salmon and even huge head-on peel and eat shrimp.

Fabulous Salad Bar

Then the meat started.  Various cuts of beef, pork and lamb and it was all very good.  I'd have to say the variety of meat wasn't quite as good as we've had at similar restaurants in North America but the quality and taste was outstanding.

The First Wave of Meat!

We had to give up after sampling most of the selections.  We had really filled up on the salad bar!

My wife--amazingly--found room for dessert and I just sipped hot, black coffee.

Rodizio is a great place!  We highly recommend it to you.  As mentioned, they are located in Puerto Madero.

They have a web site here and it is featured both in Spanish and English.
