RESTAURANT OF THE WEEK
A PERSONAL REVIEW OF RESTAURANTS AROUND THE WORLD

PISCES
CURACAO

This turned out to be an excellent find.  The restaurant, which is a few minutes away from downtown Willemstad and most of the hotels, specializes in fresh seafood.  Unfortunately the view isn't all that hot because of a nearby factory of some type.  But it's definitely worth a cab ride out there.

Personally we go to a restaurant for the quality of the food and the reputation of the establishment.  We don't really demand a place that's strong on atmosphere unless it offers an incredible view.  This place was definitely what you'd call "down home" in appearance.  Casual would be an overstatement!

On this visit our party consisted of 6 hungry diners (four adults and two kids).   Most ordered either fresh fish or a combination seafood platter.  The fried fish, bad for us, tasted great.

Our son, at the time, was in his early teens and didn't much care for fresh seafood.  When our server saw that he was upset with the menu I explained that he wasn't much of a seafood eater.  The server returned with a very nice woman who asked him if he liked steak.  He nodded yes and she ran off saying:  "No problem."  Steak wasn't even on the menu yet she managed to rustle one up for him!  Now that's Caribbean hospitality!

We topped off our meal with some ice cream and coffee.

If you don't mind the taxi ride, we highly recommend this restaurant.
