RESTAURANT OF THE WEEK
While cruising along the beach our son-in-law, Russ, spotted this place so we circled back around and gave it a shot.
The best thing about the restaurant is the location. It's right on the beach. Actually it's right over the beach and affords great view of the Atlantic Ocean. I think it's actually more of a bar than a restaurant and judging from the posted hours (they're open very late), they must do great business with the party crowd.
This wasn't a drinking occasion but a lunch with our three grandkids. We ordered a couple of appetizers -- onion rings and steamed clams -- and both were very good. For our main course, two of us had the blackened Mahi Mahi sandwich with fries and we were surprised at how good it was. My wife went with a fried grouper sandwich and enjoyed it. Our daughter ordered a yellow fin tuna salad and was quite satisfied with it. Can't remember what the grandkids had. It flew by too fast as they heaved it, as usual!
I'd advise you to get here early. There were only a couple of empty tables when we got there and by the time we left (around 1:30pm), the place was packed. Parking can be a bit of an issue here, too. There are a few, precious spots right in front of the restaurant and some more just across the street. Plenty in a big parking lot if you don't mind paying $5.
Beachgoers can order food and drinks, I assume, right down at beach level.
This was a pleasant experience. As I said, the restaurant offers what has to be one of the best views of the ocean in Daytona Beach and the wait staff were friendly, efficient and fun.
They have a web site with vectors, menus, etc., right here.
