RESTAURANT OF THE WEEK LA FAVORITA - O'PARRUCCHIANO
This is one of the prettiest restaurants we've ever dined at around the world. Once inside there must be hundreds if not thousands of plants. It's like being in a tropical forest. And if you look straight up, there's no ceiling in some parts of the establishment. Wonder what happens when it rains?!
The pictures simply don't do it justice. This is a big, green, multi-story restaurant that serves outstanding food. It turned out to be our favorite restaurant in Sorrento. Now the food! I started off with a pasta dish consisting of spaghetti and clams. Folks, I've never had clams like these. I've eaten clams all over the world and these were the best on the planet. Obviously they were local right out of the Mediterranean Sea and unlike any I've ever had before. They were very small, free of any sand specks and extremely sweet. Unbelievably good! I had roasted chicken for my main meal and it was great. My wife went with a steak and it was cooked to perfection. The whole meal including a bottle of good local wine and two desserts dinged us only $55 U.S. An excellent value.
The restaurant is located at Corso Italia 71-73. I'd make a reservation unless you plan to dine early in the evening. OTHER RESTAURANT REVIEWS FROM ITALY:
