RESTAURANT OF THE WEEK
A PERSONAL REVIEW OF RESTAURANTS AROUND THE WORLD

HEY JOSE'S
PROVO, TURKS & CAICOS

If the Mexican bug bites you during your stay on Provo this is a half way decent option.  Don't expect an elaborate spread like you might find at Pappasito's in Dallas.  In fact, it's not even in the same league with Don Pablo's in the U.S.  But based on our couple of visits, it serves up reliably good dishes.

Hey Jose's specializes in plain, old Tex Mex serving up things like tacos, burritos, nachos, tostadas and they also will bake a pizza for you and your family.  They also do some meat dishes.

We started with a couple of orders of nachos for the table and they were good.  Then we attacked a combination of tacos, burritos and nachos for our main course.  It was satisfying but clearly not world class Mexican food.

They serve up probably the tastiest margaritas on the island and they are generous with the tequila. If it's raining and you seek shelter here, you're liable to see one of your favorite sports teams playing on the TV monitors.

This is a pretty short review because, well, there isn't much to talk about other than just plain, decent Mexican food and friendly servers.

You'll find Hey Jose's located in a strip mall (Central Square) on Leeward Highway.  If you need directions, call them at 946-4812.  And FYI - they do offer carry out service if you want to load up and head to the beach.

Ironically they don't have a web site but the place was up for sale at the time of this review.
