RESTAURANT OF THE WEEK CHANDLER'S SEAFOOD
RESTAURANT We popped into this popular waterside spot for a quick luncheon during a brief visit to this charming city. Usually we head to a restaurant after getting a recommendation from somebody or reading a review. We just "happened" upon this place and I'm glad we did! You could tell by the look and feel of the place that it was going to be great for seafood. And the fact that it was jam packed was another good indicator. I started off my luncheon with a good sized cup of Boston style (creamy) clam chowder and it was sensational. This steaming hot concoction had never seen the insides of a can! My wife started out with a small Caesar salad and it was quite good. For my main course I chose a piece of halibut simply sautéed. They had a number of different suggested preparations and sauces but I wanted to get the real taste of the fish and it was excellent. My wife went for the crab cakes and they were outstanding. While she wasn't 100% certain the meat appeared to be from the local Dungeness crab. Great views, great food, good service and a pleasant nautical atmosphere. We can highly recommend this place to you! Chandler's is located on the waterfront in the Oldtown section of Victoria. They're located at 1250 Wharf Street. We got in with no wait but reservations are accepted. ADDITIONAL RESTAURANT REVIEWS
