RESTAURANT OF THE WEEK
Our Buenos Aires guide, Esteban, suggested that we stop here for lunch and it's a happenin' place.
This very establishment is located in the trendy Palermo SoHo area of B.A. This is the part of town where you will find the most trendy dining spots.
During the day it's a restaurant. During the evening it's a restaurant. During the wee hours it's a bar and disco. There are tables and between the two main dining areas, you'll find couches and easy chairs where you can also dine.
Like many, perhaps most, B.A. restaurants and bars, the restrooms are located upstairs on a balcony overlooking the main dining area below. Some restaurants have restrooms in the basement. It is rare to find the W.C. on the main floor.
After slugging down a couple of Coke Lights we received our lunch orders. Esteban got a Margarita pizza and it was more than he could eat. My wife got a very curious looking but tasty "green" lasagna with just a few jumbled noodles and lots of broccoli. I chose a pasta dish in a light olive oil, basil and tomato sauce. The noodles were small and sticky and that really made the dish. Very tasty.
Like many restaurants, Bar Uriarte had a little patio enclosure in the rear with a couple of tables.
Service was good here and we enjoyed our meal.
