RESTAURANT OF THE WEEK AROMA CHINESE RESTAURANT We popped in at this restaurant on a miserably rainy afternoon around 3:30. We had just come from the train station and had our carry-on luggage in tow. This made for a tight dining experience in an already jam packed little restaurant. As we entered a server, looking somewhat unhappy with us because of our baggage, gestured to a table and we settled in. The menus came and we started to make our selections. Our server was prompt to bring the compulsory pot of green tea with the traditional little cups. There were five of us on this visit and we tried a number of starters including spring rolls, shrimp toast, and spare ribs. All were good. Main courses we selected included stir fried chicken with cashews, sweet and sour chicken, chicken with lemon sauce and sweet and sour prawns. They were all good. While everything we tried here was good it wasn't what we'd describe as outstanding. Above and beyond our bags this place is crammed with tables. As for the food, some items could have been a little hotter in temperature but the main thing that got our attention was the abrupt bordering on downright surly service. A visit to London's small Chinatown is an interesting experience and Aroma certainly isn't a bad choice. However, you might want to ask some locals who are "in the know" to see if there might be a better place to check out. OTHER RESTAURANT REVIEWS FROM THE UNITED KINGDOM: Anchorage
