This temple complex is located on Gozo, a small island that is roughly 7 by 9 miles wide. The name Ggantija means "giantess" and these are the largest of the megalithic temples found in Malta. This complex faces the southeast and both have five semi-circular niches inside. You can view a pillar with a snake carved in it at the Archeological Museum in Gozo's capital city of Victoria. A small admission price is charged and restrooms are available at the site. |
