Web cams can be interesting but sites are notorious for
failure to operate regularly.
We've listed a few of our favorites for you to check out here.
Some are live streaming video, others take live photos every few seconds.
TRANSPORTATION CAMS
RAIL CAM NL
This site features live streaming video with sound of an incredibly busy
railroad crossing in the Netherlands near the border with Germany. More
than a hundred trains of all description pass by this crossing each day from
freight to commuter to long distance passenger trails. Sometimes it seizes
or turns a funny green but just wait and it will return to normal.
LAX WEB CAM
This site, provided by a Los Angeles law firm, provides updated camera
snapshots of a busy runway and cargo terminal at Los Angeles International
Airport. You'll see everything from fancy biz jets to 747-400 jumbo jets
taxing by. If you're lucky you'll also see jets just about to touch down.
However capturing that magic moment with a camera isn't easy.
PHILADELPHIA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
There are two live, streaming cams on this site that come up on a Real
Player screen. Generally a reliable site.
TOKYO NARITA
WEB CAM
This camera takes still shots on the tarmac. We recently discovered it
and can't yet vouch for its reliability.
